Rune Boutroue Bekkhus is a composer, pianist, teacher (music and more), conductor, accompanist, chamber musician, music arranger, concert arranger, and music typist (Finale, Dorico), living in the small Norwegian town of Moss. His works have been performed by DNBE (The Norwegian Wind Ensemble), Cikada, Sommerstryk, EKK, Frevo guitar duo, and more. He studied piano and composing at Griegakademiet in Bergen, the former with Jan Hovden and Signe Bakke, the latter with Morten Eide Pedersen, Mogens Christensen and James Clapperton. The great love of Rune’s musical life is chamber music, especially from the 20th century onwards. Music critic Svein Erik Tandberg described Rune’s playing thus: «Rune Bekkhus’ performance was rich and full of colours. Here we met a pianist with a piercing clarity of vision when it comes to focusing on the musical structure, and with a distinctive ability to charge the sound with both intensity and subtle nuances» (Tønsberg Blad, 1st of June, 2004)
