NATALIA ORLOWSKA - CELLO

NATALIA ORLOWSKA

Natalia Orlowska is a Polish cellist born in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She studied at Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Norwegian Academy of Music and University of Stavanger. She made her debut at the Pomeranian Philharmonic as a soloist when she was 9 years old.
She is a laureate of many solo and chamber competitions, (e.g. Cello Competition in Bydgoszcz, Chamber Music Competition in Warsaw, Luigi Boccherini Cello Competition in Zamość and distinctions at the J.S. Bach Competition in Zielona Góra). She is also a dedicated chamber musician and has played in many different constellations, such as duo, string trio, piano trio, string quartets and piano quartet. She cooperated with the Dextra Musica Foundation (2011-2014) which provided her cello made by Silvio Levaggi in Cremona, Italy.
In Norway she worked, among others, as a district musician in Kristiansund, playing in the opera, sinfonietta and string quartet. She has also collaborated with various ensembles and orchestras. Natalia Orlowska has participated in many festivals and concerts in Poland and Norway, among others in Oslo, Stavanger, Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Bergen, Kristiansund and Alta. She perfected her skills at master classes with such musicians as Ralph Kirshbaum, Henning Kraggerud, Clemens Hagen, Marco Ylönen and Stephan Kropfitsch. Contemporary music has always played an important part in her repertoire. The cello-piano duo in which she has played for 12 years, together with pianist Bartosz Sosnowski, will always have a special place for her. Together they performed most of the pieces from the standard repertoire for cello and piano as well as many transcriptions from the violin repertoire. They are the laureates of the chamber competition in Stavanger in 2017. She has been a member of Ensemble KammerKlang since the fall of 2019.
